Work Package 6 mission is to develop the next generation of methanol engines, that fully exploit methanol’s beneficial properties as an engine fuel, for increased efficiency and even lower emissions.
Objectives:
- To develop the MD95 engine concept used in the WP3 demo, to an MD100 concept
- To map the potential of a medium speed, spark ignition engine on M100: achievable load range, evaluation of PFI and DI
- To provide recommendations on which methanol engine concepts to invest in for market introduction
